Thousand Dollar Shave Society

    The Society was created by Kirby Allison–a curator of fine things–as a movement to preserve and cherish the sacred male ritual of shaving by capturing the high ground, and protecting it from the inferior products of internet warehouse clubs. Kirby is vehemently against the culture of disposable goods. He believes in quality over quantity. He believes in owning a few things, not many, and they need to be the best of their kind. The Society is a reflection of his values. The Society sold just one thing—the finest, most complete, shaving kit known to man, priced tidily at a thousand dollars.

    After the launch video, starring Kirby and his wife-Bianca, we created an actual contest to make a baby on purpose. The winner received a magnificent trophy. The video served as the aphrodisiac which resulted in Kirby and Bianca’s second child. We got into the CA Ad Annual for Integrated Campaign. Win-win.
